Thanks for the link, I wonder if this scope does every thing my 3423 does plus more.

with all the hybrids that came out in 08 it is just a matter of time before we will be digging in.

this just might be my next scope if it has the best of both worlds.

This scope is basically a 3423 with a different front end.

This would not be as good a choice for automotive use as the 3423 is already.

You would not be able to attach an attenuator to measure more than the max 400v.  Don't look at this to be Hybrid safe.  It's only CAT I.  CAT III is recommended for HV work on Hybrids.

This scope has a lower bandwidth than the 3423 due to the differential inputs.  It's also more expensive for the same reason.

The differential inputs isolate things and prevent ground loops, but the 3423 has thermal fuse protection to prevent serious issues from accidental ground loop hookups.

It lacks the low voltage ranges of the 3423.  Min is 100mv and bandwidth is cut to 3MHz.

Also not supported by the automotive software.

Basically this is not an improvement over what you have now in a 3000 series for automotive work.  If you are looking for the next generation of Pico automotive scopes, this isn't it.

Time marches on and I'm sure Pico will eventually have a new line of automotive scopes, but it's hard to imagine a more powerful one than we have now.  The 3000 series blow everything else away.  They will never be obsolete.
