Nathan was an inspiration for this project but I do not see him adveresely.  He has some valid points on scopes with lesser resources.  The other movie you linked was for someone inquiring about a genisys scope module.  I just did a video clip of both I actually tried emulate the display of the genisys on the pico.  I believe the sample rate is whatever the default is using the automotive preset.  I actually made the genisys scope capture look better though it has a grid thats seems to cover up a lot it can be turned on or off

Do you have then four windows open... I have never done that... there is just one scope but four windows and PICO software  is operable on all four windows - neato. You could open a second window and zoom in on a questionable cylinder having picked it out of the line-up while the vehicle was running. How about saving captures? Can you save on one window if you want while the rest are running?

I dont know how to put four different windows at once on a screen to start out with. That would be easy to learn, something about cascading or tiling Windows is what you did,  is that right?   Is Pico's power diminished by the having of four screens used at once? Maybe that would be the limitation of the computer.
         

The PicoScope 6 software will enable you to open more than one view. Simply right click on the scope window and choose Add View | Scope.

All of the views will display the same data but the new view will enable you to zoom in and different areas of interest.

We have an extensive training movie library on PicoScope use covering 5.xx and 6.xx versions.  These are available to all who purchase a kit from Autonerdz or subscribe to our support and training package.

PicoScope 5 will allow you to run several scopes simultaneously with different settings, time bases, etc.  This does not reduce the scope performance as each scope window takes turns sampling the data.  Pico 6 can't do this presently but we hope to get that capability back in a future build.

This has nothing to do with sampling but I noticed that Pico 5.xx had a meter view capability and 6.xx version does not. Are they going to get that back as well?

I don't know, Danny.  The meter view wasn't all that useful unless you wanted to see big digital numbers.  The scope measurement functions are faster and there are more of them and they are more precise with more options.

They may put meter views in Pico 6 but I think it would be pretty low on the list of priorities unless there are a lot of requests for it.

OK Tom,

If I had the scope setup to use as a multimeter with the Ta00 leads attached to a channel and had a probe measurement set up to take a resistance in ohms for a simple example. The scope would give this a a straight line trace right.

There is no Ohms measurement.  With a scope, we look at dynamic voltage drops to see resistance issues.  Ohms measurements are not all that useful for many reasons.

If a solenoid was rated at 100 to 200 ohms reisitance, and it was within range; does not make it good, because a short could equal the original resistance; but if it DOES not fall in range then regardless of it's operating characteristic it is no good.
An open circuit becomes obvious with an ohm meter.

Good point. Also if your checking for an open circuit only on a wire, or coil winding , with a digital multimeter. I use one  with a continuity test selection feature with an audible alarm. If it busses it is not open if it does not buss it is open (disconnected and isolated from the circuit of coarse).
