Title: DSO Sample Rate Calculator
Post by Tom Roberts on Nov 1st, 2004 at 3:02pm
There has been some interest in The Autonerdz DSO Sample Rate Calculator.

To make this more widely available, so that more techs can accurately calculate DSO sample rate performance, we have this on line now so anyone can use it.

Thanks to my Son, Noah for writing the Java script that makes this possible.   ;D

Up until now this calculator was only available in Excel format.  It was accurate but fairly primitive.  It did not allow values entry in different units.  Users needed Microsoft Excel or a version of Open Office to use it.

This new Java calculator allows entry of values and conversion of results in the units of your choice.  It should also run on any PC with a real version of Java installed.  You will likely need to install Java to use this because the version that comes with Windows is a limited function old and crippled version.  You can get the real Java here:

Java:   http://java.com/en/index.jsp

And here is the Autonerdz DSO Sample Rate Calculator:

http://www.autonerdz.com/java/SampleRateCalculator.html

Please help spread the word that this is here.  The goal is to enable as many techs as possible to compare sample rate performance easily.  I have made this freely available as another Autonerdz public service  :)

That's really cool!  It's even quicker than the last Sample Rate Calculator!  Thanks so much for putting it together.  Later, Matt.

Hi Carl,

Noah and I are alike in many ways...but I think he got his brains somewhere else  :P

He recently graduated with his BS majoring in computer technology.  The Job wasn't included with the degree though  :o  I hired him for this little project.  I'd have him on full time if I could afford him  ;)

Well Tom I must say you and your son have done a good job with the sample calculator.
I'm currently in school studying computer technology myself.I was originally gonna take electronics engineering but changed my mind. 8)
